We went to the different stores in town that sell wireless broadband service and discovered that there are major differences. What we consider to be the best speed is with Verizon but their coverage area isn't great. Another negative with many of these internet providers is that their plans requires a 2 year long term commitment but as this technology gets more popular I am sure that will change. Verizon is considered the best because their wireless service has broadband speeds almost everywhere where as Cingular wireless (now known as ATT) internet has a speed that is about 3 times faster then a dial up modem in most areas and is slowly gaining faster speeds as they upgrade the network. 3 Times as fast as dial up is kind of fast but not that great for watching videos off the internet. You would probably get frustrated. Cingular (ATT) does have a pro in that their coverage area is wide across the state of Texas. This means Cingular (ATT) is better for the business traveler who needs to download his email wherever he happens to be. ATT is updating the GSM network in most locations which is a fast broadband wireless internet connection comparable to Verizon. Because of their coverage area and new speed we recommend going with ATT for wireless aircard broadband internet as they are upgrading the speed and they have a wider coverage area.
